Relationship and Couples Therapy at The Good Life Therapy provides supportive, evidence-based psychology, therapy, and counselling for individuals and couples navigating challenges in their relationships. Our psychologists and therapists work collaboratively with you to strengthen connection, improve communication, and support healthier, more secure relationships.
Couples seek therapy for a wide range of concerns, including re-igniting emotional connection, improving friendship and intimacy, and working through infidelity or trust issues. Relationship counselling can also support couples who are contemplating separation or divorce, helping to clarify needs, values, and next steps with care and respect.
We commonly support couples experiencing ongoing conflict related to money, division of household or parenting responsibilities, alcohol use, or differences in values and expectations. Therapy can be especially helpful for navigating the complexities of blended families, differing parenting styles, or making major life decisions such as relocating.
Relationship therapy also provides support with communication and boundary-setting in extended family relationships, including co-parenting with an ex-partner or managing challenges with parents-in-law. Our approach is balanced, collaborative, and focused on practical strategies that support respectful communication and emotional safety.

Family therapy at The Good Life Therapy offers supportive, evidence-based psychology, therapy, and counselling for families navigating challenges and change. Our psychologists and therapists work collaboratively with families, parents, and co-parents to strengthen communication, improve relationships, and support emotional wellbeing.
We support families across a wide range of concerns, including parenting children experiencing anxiety or depression, managing the impact of school bullying, and navigating separation, divorce, or repartnering. Family therapy can also assist with behavioural challenges, such as tantrums, emotional regulation difficulties, and developing practical, age-appropriate parenting strategies.
Therapy is particularly helpful for families experiencing differences in parenting styles, including challenges around discipline, boundaries, and consistency. We provide a respectful space to explore these differences and work toward shared understanding and effective approaches.
We also support couples and co-parents who are wanting to improve communication, strengthen relationship satisfaction, and resolve ongoing conflict or frequent arguing. Our approach focuses on practical strategies that support cooperation, emotional safety, and healthier family dynamics.

Teen and Adolescent therapy at The Good Life Therapy provides supportive, evidence-based psychology, therapy, and counselling for young people aged 12 years and over. Our psychologists and therapists offer a safe, respectful space where adolescents can talk openly, build emotional insight, and develop practical coping skills during this important stage of development.
We support teenagers experiencing challenges such as anxiety, low mood or depression, stress related to school or peer relationships, emotional regulation difficulties, and changes within the family. Therapy can also assist adolescents navigating identity development, self-esteem concerns, or the impact of life transitions such as separation, relocation, or academic pressure.
Our approach to adolescent therapy is collaborative and age-appropriate, balancing a young person’s need for privacy and autonomy with supportive involvement from parents or caregivers where appropriate. We focus on strengthening communication, emotional resilience, and confidence, while helping teens feel understood and supported.
Sessions are available face to face in Hawthorne, Brisbane, or via secure telehealth counselling, offering flexibility in the morning or evenings to suit school, family, and extracurricular commitments.

Telehealth therapy at The Good Life Therapy offers flexible, accessible psychology, therapy, and counselling designed to fit around your lifestyle. Online therapy sessions are delivered via secure video, allowing you to attend appointments from home, during a lunch break, or from another private location that feels comfortable for you.
Telehealth counselling provides the same evidence-based psychological support as in-person sessions, while removing barriers such as travel time, work commitments, or childcare. This option can be particularly helpful for individuals seeking greater flexibility or continuity of care.
Where possible, we recommend that your initial session is conducted face to face at our Hawthorne, Brisbane practice. However, we understand that circumstances vary, and flexible arrangements are always welcomed to ensure therapy remains accessible and supportive.

We also offer “Walk and Talk” therapy sessions, where counselling takes place while walking outdoors. This option can be especially helpful for individuals who feel anxious or uncomfortable in traditional therapy settings, or who find movement supports emotional regulation and openness. Walk and Talk sessions are also well suited to new parents, with many choosing to bring their baby in a pram or carrier.
Please advise our office before your appointment to arrange a Walk and Talk session
